2010.01.26: E-mail Received from Eliona Bernard, Cap Haitien

Dear Barbara Johnston,

Greetings to you in the name of the Lord Jesus our Savior!

Happy to hear from you and to know that many of you are praying for us and doing your best to help us after this tragedy that destroys a large part of our country. Thank you so much for your care and concern, we love you and we apprecaite what you do to help, may the Lord continue to bless you there in your effort to help God's people here.

Yes, the needs are lot and every time you do something to help it is like a drop of water in an ocean, but it is good to do what we can. I give thanks to God that we have been able to help some hospitals, supply our clinic with meds and help some camps with a few bags of rice and beans because of the donation we got from Kurt Marqaurt Funds.

Many people are now moving from Port-Au-Prince to Cap-Haitian while many of them do not have any parents here, a place to live and find food to eat, to get clothes to wear. These are actually the basic needs and we are happy that we were able to do something.

It is not easy for me to have access on the Internet, mine does not work at home, this morning I stop in a cyber cafe by chance I can access.

Thanks a lot Mrs Johnston for your care and concern.

In Him,

Eliona

Please extend our thankfulness to all those who are supporting us through prayer and financial support, may God be with you.

(Eliona Bernard is Pastor in Cap Haitien and President of Concordia theological Seminary-Haiti.)
