The Kurt Marquart Fund for Theological Education in Haiti Presented as Class Gift from the Men of the CTS Class of 2007

FORT WAYNE, IN–May 18–At the commencement exercises for the Concordia Theological Seminary class of 2007, the 77 men of the class presented The Kurt Marquart Fund for Theological Education in Haiti, Inc., to the seminary as their “class gift.”

It is longstanding tradition at the seminary that each class gives a gift of some kind to the seminary. Each class gift is an expression of the students’ love for the seminary and their gratitude for the institution’s part in their pastoral training and formation.

After a brief speech by the Class President, a plaque was presented to the seminary president in token of the class gift, upon which were written the following words:

A gift from the men of the graduating class of Concordia Theological Seminary
Presented this eighteenth day of May, in the year of our Lord 2007

THE KURT MARQUART FUND
FOR THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION IN HAITI

To Christ's Church on behalf of the Seminary that we love, in the name of our sainted
professor, the Reverend Doctor Kurt E. Marquart, and for the benefit of confessional
Lutheran pastoral education within the nation of Haiti, we now commend The Kurt
Marquart Fund for Theological Education in Haiti to God's great providence, knowing
that He will do more than we could ask or desire for the sake of the Holy Bride of Christ.

From the seventy-seven men of the Class of 2007 A+D,
May God grant to this place of pastoral formation every grace
in Christ Jesus our Savior and Lord, until He comes again.
